Maureen Busby made these cookies for the 2006 CLAS cookie exchange.

3/4 c lard or crisco
1/4 c molasses
1 c sugar
2 c flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground clove
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 egg

Mix well. Roll into balls then roll in extra sugar. Place on greased 
pan and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
